CDL won't unlock (97 D1)

Author Message   John Steczkowski (Stecz) New Member Username: Stecz Post Number: 1 Registered: 02-2003 Posted on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 - 04:20 pm:    Austin has been iced in the last couple of days and I locked the center diff to pull someone out of a ditch, but now it won't unlock. I can move the lever from hi-range to neutral to low-range all on the locked side of the pattern, but the lever just feels jammed if I try to move it over to the diff being unlocked. Any ideas? I messed with it, even as far as opening the passenger door and yanking on the shifter that way... Basically I was messing with it at every stop light, and then at one stoplight, I managed to move the lever over, it was stiff, but it moved fine. Previous to that, it was a hard stop, not just the linkage being stiff.
