i know rrc's have a problem with floor boards rusting, but has anyone ever determined where the water is comming from? and if so, what was the fix? i am in the process of tracking down the leak on the drivers side, seems to be running down the side wall. |

Fix? Sell it. The first place I'm starting with is my windshield seal... |

RRC's only have this problem? I guess somebody forgot to tell my discovery. I spent almost six weeks trying to track a similar leak down in my D1. My solution: rip out all the carpet, repair the rust damage, and rhinoline the interior. |

Had a similar problem, previous owner had let the AC drain tube in the passenger side footwell clog, and let water sit there, had alot of surface rust, I pulled everything out, let it air dry and treated it with Por15, if you rust is not too bad, use POR15 to treat the rust, stuff works wonders and is really easy to use, just paint the stuff on and it dries rock solid. First find the leak and dry everything out real good. http://www.porstore.com/index.htm

I NOTICED SOMETHING ON SUNDAY WHILE INSTALLING A SNORKEL IN MY 88RRC; WHEN I CUT THE HOLE FOR THE STEEL TUBE, I NOTICED A 1.250/1.500 DIAMETER HOLE IN THE NEXT SURFACE OVER (LOOKED AS IF IT WOULD BE THE UPPER PORTION OF THE EXTERIOR FOOT WELL). THE HOLE LOOKED AS IF IT HAD TAPE COVERING IT AT SOMETIME. I WONDERED IF THIS IS WHERE MY WATER LEAKS ARE COMMING FROM? ANYWAY, I RE-TAPED THE HOLE WITH DUCT TAPE. I WAS ALREADY IN THE PROCESS OF SEARCHING FOR WHERE THE WATER WAS COMING (REMOVED CARPET); I WILL WAIT FOR THE NEXT RAIN TO SEE IF THE DUCT TAPE FIXED THE PROBLEM. |
