Any new news on this major marketing coup? Have not seen much one way or another, just curious.

Is anyone of our 1500+ Dweb members participating? Seems like anyone that is really into LandRover from the United States or Abroad is a member on this board, so I'm just curious if we are represented?

Great Rans! Looking forward to seeing you guys again. Maybe we should meet all at the same place. Let me know what time and place.

I put off a trip to FL (business) so I can attend Robesonia and the G4 kickoff. If it gets boring at the G4 we can head over to the mid-NJ area and do some water crossings...

I think I'll skip the Tavern thing, I will be with my family. Maybe I'll just meet up with you guys at Central Park. See you then!!!

Glenn, as soon as I get back from Chicago I'll email everyone to start planning.

Garrett,

I'm actually 15 minutes away from Manhattan, Jroc is in Queens and JohnC is about the same distance as I am. I'm not sure if I'm going to Robesonia yet but I definitely want to see the G4 events. We'll know for sure as the events get closer.

all adventure racers, A guy from my club got to the tryout in Las Vegas, said it was a who's who of adventure racers. It is all marketing to compete with the Toyota/Everest show. I think we should all feel a little let down. I tried to volunteer for the Cdn leg and haven't heard back...

Here's a link to another rover web page regarding the G4.
http://www.landroverenthusiast.com/editorial.htm

Someone in attendance at a selection event in the UK remarked... Dave Barker attended the G4 Challenge International Selections at the end of January, and he returned with very mixed feelings about the event. “As an event to watch,” he said, “it was good. But it’s not a 4x4 off-road event. They might just as well have used Volvo XC90s for the vehicle-based part of it; in fact, that would have been a better vehicle for the job!”

FWIW,

Jack

The G4 ain't no Camel Trophy, but more of a marketing event, with all the pretty bright orange Rovers covered in "kit" that will probably be washed everyday. But you think of the group they are marketing Rovers to, your soccer moms and wanna be outdoor image people, 90% of Rovers will never see dirt, thats why the G4 will not be a 4x4 off-road event. Its really sad to see the demise of the Camel Trophy turn into the G4 challenge, Rovers are such great off-road vehicles even in stock form, but most people will never utilize them, its all an image thing.

Sorry for my rant.

Glenn, doing a server, desktop and switch upgrade in our Chicago office. Two weeks from now I'll be in Nashville and a month from now I'll be in
Philly. I'm skipping the FL office 'cause I'll be at Robesonia and the G4 challenge...stupid me!!! What the heck you doin' home on a Sunday? You should be out there scouting some trails with Weedoggie and Adrian.

Talk to you on Tuesday..

yeah it can be bad there. we did some work (architecture/planning) in the city and with a few weeks people actually stole the trees. :-) they might get the wrong idea and think we are riot control.

You mean I have to cover up my EE stickers? Nah, I couldn't do that...what would Mr. Lee think of me????

BTW, I have plenty of EE stickers to give away on that day...they are the limited edition ones...signed by Mr. "Extreme" Lee himself :-)

Anyone planning to follow them up, maybe be there on the last day in NH (I think it's a Friday)?

I was thinking of heading up and antagonizing them for a while. Then maybe skiing Tuckerman's that weekend....of course, weather permitting.
