Hi guys and girls.
I am just wondering where to start, cheapest working my way up to most expensive solution on how to get my seat heaters to operate. Both Passenger and Drivers switches do not light up when depressed. Could this be a fuse or a relay?
Whare could I find them?
Could it be more serious, like the elements?
regards

even if the elements are bad, the switch should light. at least in my '93 RR. I have a bad element on the driver's side and the switch still lights.

Yikes! angelo, I was going to tell you where to find it but for some reason it's not in the manual I have.
Ummm, well, take the switch out, and with the car on, check the voltage on the hot wire and see if juice is getting to it. If not, then you have to trace that back that line and see if it goes into the main fuse panel or under the seat.
If both lights are out, I'd suspect power first. Also check to make sure the bulbs in the buttons are good.
If those are good, and there is power to the switches, then go after the relays. If those are good, then i'm guessing it's the elements. But with both lights being out, I'd suspect a fuse or bulbs first (although bulbs shouldn't stop the heaters from working) If all else fails, send me you seats and get yourself a nice new pair. :-)

Which I had a diagram to help. Sometimes, in my case at least, one was included in the owner's manual. Check there and see if there is a schematic and hunt down where stuff should be.

Ok,
I found 2 fuses, a 10amp and a 20amp just lying on the floor towards the rear of the front passenger seat, these fuses were ok. I can see relays under there. Are these fuses exposed or under a cover. I was hoping I could get to these without taking the seat out. Who designed these cars, you'd think after 20 or so years of the same body style they could put all the fuses together.

Angelo you should be able to get to all of the Fuses by just sliding the seats all the way forward and lifting them up. or reverse. The fuses for the Heated seats should be in the rear of the passenger seat. slide the seat all the way forward. and it should be a Yellow 20A located on E1. which would be the first one on the left. It controls the Seat Heaters and the Cigar Lighters. Check your Cigar lighters. If those work, then it's something else. There may be a break in the seat heater elements. You can check these by removing the rear portion /Cover of the front seats. Or under the front seats there is a very big cable that controls all the functions of the motors, and then there are small 2 wire cables that exit the inside portion of the seat bottoms and go towards the inside of your cubby box. These may have been disconnected inside the cubby box. Open it up, remove the 4 screws and pull out the insert box. Now you can look at all your relays and the place where these 2 connectors connect. make sure they're connected.
Good Luck.

I removed My seat heaters aswell as relocated all the stuff under the passenger seat for fear of a Deep Water Crossing accident where I would flood....again!
