Wife, daughter and dog went to the local mountains(Big Bear) yesterday to play in the snow. We had so much fun with the Disco and it lived to its reputation of best 4x4xfar at least according to my wife. We went thru trails knee deep in snow and the only other 4-wheeler was a Pinzgauer. He had humungous 35" tires and also used chains on the trail to Holcomb Valley. It was real fun and I just wished I had M/T's to get better traction. With the experience though, my wife approved of me getting M/T's soon. See some pics taken by my daughter:

Tom,
The two-tone is no charge, courtesy of the Colorado Dept. of Transportation's magnesium chloride de-icer:-)

That's about one week's worth of driving - we only have one car wash here, and it's so cold you have to pick a warm(30's) day, otherwise the doors freeze shut!

We installed HD springs and shocks all around. IIRC they are:

Front: 779 / N107
Rear: 763 / N108

I have plans to add a front bumper/winch in the future. I have a Coleman pup-up tent trailer that we tow + equipment so the HD rears help and not to mention a 145# Rottweiller in the back. The ride is really nice with or without load.

Nice pics phil! I wish mine looked that pretty and clean in the snow....although she lives outside! Do you have a garage?!

Jack, is that white or gold?! :-) Mine looks very similar!!!

Sus,
It's Chawton white about one day a month, otherwise it's a two-tone shade of dirt and mud. Mine is garage kept, it's actually cleaner when it stays out. The garage has a heated floor, which bakes on the dirt.

I wish I had vinyl seats and no carpet, then I could hose out the interior with a pressure washer.

Trying to get my mom out from Lynchburg for a visit, but she's hating the snow there, so I doubt she'll come out here to the frozen tundra:-)

Sus,

Thanks for the compliments. She's not garaged but I wax it 2x a year so it helps. I've had her really dirty many times but I spend another day to wash it including the engine bay. You should see the engine bay - it is so clean so I can see the slightest leaks. The LR service writer always compliment my engine bay. I spend many hours in the garage tinkering with my cars when I'm home.

What do you use to clean the engine? I would like to clean mine, once spring arrives...

I use simple green, wifes' toothbrush (J/K), 1" round brush and a 2" paint brush. I just spray the SG on a cold engine and scrub with the brush. Then I rinse it off with running water (garden hose - no nozzle) and brush the areas until satisfied. I then use compressed air to blow off the excess water and pat dry with shop towels, etc. If you do this once or twice a month, it gets easier.

*Be careful not to wet the ECU and other areas that may be sensitive to moisture. For this areas, I just use a damp towel to clean.

Wow, I thought you had to use a specific engine cleaner! I'll try that...whenever winter is over!

Thanks for the info!
