I recently sold my 1995 disco because I had a lot of issues with parts, maint etc.... I am looking to buy a 2001 or 02 and want to know if anyone has had problems with that year and perhaps 1996 too? I spoke to my dealer here in Columbus, OH and they told me that 95 & 96 were bad years! Any feedback would be great. Thanks- Tony

Tony,

If you go with a D2, look for the the remaining '01's with the CDL stud on the case.

everyone has their opinion on bad years. it's all crap in my opinion. my girlfriend owned a '95 for three years and did nothing but change oil and routine maintenence to it. she has a '00 now and has had it for about 2+ years and has had several consistent issues. i.e. new radiator twice, door locks, etc, but nothing huge. it just all depends on your luck and much depending on how it was treated in its past life.
some purists like the '95's (3.9's) more since they have distributors and all that.
but go with what paul said.

Thanks guys! Paul, can you elaborate more on the CDL stud on the case? I am looking at an 01', plus any tips to help offset my wife is greatly appreciated! She is the main one hesitant on buying another Disco. I agree with everyone, it is the luck factor and its previous life.

Tony
