Hello Zach, I'll probably come down from Knoxville, not sure if any of the dealer folk from up here plan on coming down or not. How many you expecting?

Robert,
I'm not sure what kind of turnout they are expecting. I would guess that it will be fairly good, but you can find out for sure by contacting Jason Pitman at LR Chattanooga. He will know how many have RSVP'd. That number (again) is(423)424 4000. Hope you can make it down--it will be fun. Have you ever been to Prentice Cooper?

Alright guys...I have only been to Prentice Cooper once, but it was pretty fun. It is a state park just outside Chattanooga. The trails range from easy to moderate, so a stock Rover will be able to go through with few (if any) problems. It will be a dealership-sponsored ride (Jason Pitman at LR Chattanooga is trying really hard to start an off-roading program at the dealership, and this is the first ride), so if you RSVP they will provide lunch. There is one water crossing, and there are numerous trails that branch off of the main trail (harder...the ones for the modified rovers). Depending on how many people show, there may be more than one group (a stock group and a modified group). It should be a lot of fun, and Jason is expecting a good turnout. I think that Jason's idea is that this will be a great "proving ground" for LR owners who don't go offroading, but it will be a great ride for us that go all the time, too. We will be meeting at LR Chattanooga by 9:00 (see directions above), and the trip is expected to last until about 5. Make sure to bring your own drinks, but since its state land, no alcohol...
This past weekend, Prentice Cooper was shut down because of the amout of rain we've had (the water crossing was about a 1/2 mile up the trail from where it normally is), but things should be back to normal by the 15th. If anyone needs more information, e-mail me ([email protected]) or call Jason Pitman at the dealership (423) 424 4000. Tell him you saw the post on Discoweb and that you're interested, and he can take it from there. Hope to see you all next Saturday!

Alright guys, I'm getting excited. It's good to get this much feedback (this was my first real thread). If you want free lunch, call and RSVP. Otherwise, it's not necessary. I would recommend it even if you're not planning to eat free lunch (and I don't understand why the hell not--it's free), just to give Jason an idea of how many to plan for. Now, we're waiting on Robb and Blake. You guys going to be able to make it?

It was The Rover's first time at Tellico, and we dominated! We only had time for 5 and a little bit of 6. We spent most of the day fixing the other trucks, to tell the truth. I was with two other guys (an old-school Jimmy and a GMC pick-up). The Jimmy hung his transfer case on a boulder and lifted the entire drive system--his fan was cutting down into the shroud (ouch), so we worked on that, fixed it, no problem. Then, I had some emergency trailside work to do (used bolt cutters to shear off a little bit extra from the rear fender wells--I plan on taking a dremmel to them tomorrow). The best, and most time-consuming, was the GMC truck blowing a tire halfway through a water crossing and me dragging his ass the rest of the way across. I'm posting pictures as we speak, so they should be up in a few days. More to come, as I only had enough $$ to pick up ONE ROLL OF THE DAMN FILM! **(That's what I get for having a Rover and pouring all of my money into gas for 'wheeling, etc. I was proud, though...started out with a full tank, drove there, wheeled all day, and came home. Still had a quarter when I got here, and Tellico is about 70 miles from Cleveland.)

Blake...you missed a hell of a ride. We all had a good time. It ended up being 18 Rovers, and we wheeled all day. Pics soon.

Man, one disk we were using for pictures was already previously used but just had a few pictures on it. Apparently it had been scratched and I didn't notice it. about 100 pictures and/or video lost to the Rover Gods. Got some cool shots of that very last obstacle that few tried and even fewer succeeded.

I was wondering where you guys were headed (Bob, Will, and Robert)--when you turned left at the bottom of the trail, I went right (that's how I always get home). It takes you straight back over the mountain to where we got off the highway. Oh well...seems like you made it home just fine, too. I can't wait to see everybody's pics.

The way that we went took us out to between Dunlap and Jasper. We got on 24 at the new hospital in Marion County. I was sure of the route to go that way, but wasn't the other. The folks from ATL were following me to the interstate. Had a great time yesterday!! Got my video clip from Rob......pretty freakin cool!!

Bob, did you ever figure out why that one hose clamp rotated and dented your hood? Check your motor mounts, i bet they are broken.
The reason my truck stalled was because i broke my motor mounts, and the motor rotated just enough to pull that exact same hose off....
