while wondering what the hell a fob is anyway, where is the receiver that the key fob transmits to? i swear, i have to be standing one foot away from the front of the vehicle for the damn thing to work, and it has fresh batteries. i'm thinking that maybe the sensor on the receiver needs to be cleaned or something. any suggestions as to where i might locate it?

Try holding the remote to your chin while you push the lock/unlock buttons. This will use your cranium to increas the signal and you will have better range.

and yes, bones conduct. trust me

I know it sounds stupid, but it frigin works.

oliver - yes, i have tinted windows. the sensor is in the cabin? i know other people with tinted windows who can set their alarm 10 cars away. i would just be happy if i could do so without walking circles around my truck clicking my remote like a geiger counter trying to find the sweet spot.

joshua - i'm desparate; i'll try it. i swear, i'm going to come looking for you if this is a joke! you'll be easy to find. you'll be the guy rolling on the ground laughing his ass off on the other side of lowe's parking lot. incidentally, do i really want to send radio signals through my cranium? wasn't there a dateline report on this sort of stuff regarding cellphones? :-)

Kevin...see i wasnt messin with you

I dont think the report that came out was too bad...I mean it said holding the remote up to your chin only took 10-15 years off your life, and your eyeballs might pop out one day. I think thats a small price to pay, you know, for a working remote!lol
glad it worked, now you can play games with your friends, seeing who can get the longest distance

i've had some downtime lately thanks to standardized state testing. the sad thing is that i'm in a position of influencing today's youth. :-) now get out there and give some tickets! boston, right? what i'd give for some of your cold weather about now. oh, and support your local teachers' union, lol.
