Has anyone tried shock extentions on the front of their d1? I am trying to visualize that set up and I don't know if it is possible. ideas? |

Well, I have a DII but the concept should be the same. Get some metal rings made that match the mounting of your shock tower (4 req'd, 2 for each side-1 upper and 1 lower). Then get some steel tube that has an OD of approx. 4.25". Cut the tube to the desired height of your extension. Weld the rings on each end to form a flange. Then bolt this between your chassis and shock tower. You can now run longer shocks in front. Making a set of these for my DII as the front shocks bottom out before my bump stops hit. |

Also - alternate suggestion - if you want more down travel, and can afford to lose uptravel - shorten the towers themselves - no other stuff necessary.
