I just put my rear seats up and noticed that the carpet and padding was cut on both sides under the seats. If I pull the cutouts away from the body, they expose a nut and bolt on each side. What are these for? Are the carpets supposed to be cut or did someone get lazy and not pull the carpet out to work on it? Thanks! -justin |

There is a bracket that attatches to the underside of the Disco to support the wheel wells. When I was removing the lower part of the wheel well I got hung up removing the bracket that attaches to the underside of the truck because it required me to hold the nut while I unscrewed it. To make a long story short I got the grinder and took the fuckers off. That's probably the nuts you are seeing. Look under your Disco and see if that bracket as about where that nut is |

There are also several "blind-mounting" nuts under the carpet for things like load retainers, and other options. I think a couple are under the seat area. (Without the pics it is hard to tell) If your Disco was pre-owned, it may be that the previous operator accessed these in a less than elegant way. Are all the seat belts there? -Reed |

I belive those nuts are body mounting points. If you're looking at the same ones I saw in my '00 D2, there are big rubber bushings between the body and a washer under the nut. |
