I know it's not the most technical of questions, but between 4-wheelings I use my disco as a daily driver and would like to spice up the interior a little.... Who makes the best quality full wood dash kits? I see tons on E-bay everywhere but the kits and prices are all over the place. Any recommendations? Thanks! -justin |

I would say get a carbon fiber, it looks nice and better in the rover. Wood in a discovery doesn't look very good i dont' think |

I've admired the wood finish too, seems the difference in price is: 1. Plastic v. wood 2. Veneer v. solid Genuine kits are solid wood and pricey. |

On the BMW boards, people are always ranting and raving about the Joshua Tree Wood trim kits. Never seen a pic of the kit in a Discovery II, but the pics people have posted on the BMW's looks pretty nice. I think they offer a "OEM match" to the existing stuff in the car (door and the glove box) http://www.woodtrim.com/ Good luck! |

I got a full 33 piece fake OEM style wood kit from nycdashes.com off eBay for about $210 I believe. The fit, finish, and overall quality of the kit is impressive. So much so that my local dealership actually purchased some kits from this same place and installed them in new Discos so I was able to see what it looked like first hand before I bought. (They of course sold the installed kits at a HUGE markup.) The kits are over $300 at the website, but they're significantly discounted on eBay with Buy It Now. I personally think carbon fiber and aluminum kits belong in ricers if not in a true all-out race car...chicks really dig the warm hunting lodge feel of wood trim (when it's not a cheesy wood pattern). I think aluminum trim would look good if done right, giving it a more rugged look, but I have yet to see an aluminum kit for a Disco that looks good. A Land Rover just shouldn't feel like a Honda Civic in my humble opinion. |
