I test drove a 01 Disco with ACE and it was impressive. Has anybody out there had a problem or general gripe about the feature? Will it work ok with 16" wheels in lieu of the 18's that come on the performance package? Thanks

99 w/ACE here (11/98 manu date), no problems so far, been running 16s for some time. Some later models had bad pipes or pipe mounts and it seems a valve block or two have blown. With lift and tires, it groans a little more but still works great.

That said, if you think you want more options down the road and don't want to worry about yet another "system" that can fail/cost, don't get ACE.

Seems like folks without ACE and HD lift and removed sway bars have better than average handling characteristics on road.

I had ACE in my rig. I always did like it very much. Nice handling, in low range, you get really good articulation. It worked well with the 2" lift and 265 tires. Never had any issues with it.

The longevity of the system is uncertain since it hasn't been around that long. I would guess that local LR mechanics probably won't want to do that much with the system unless they are sophisticated enough to have a testbook.

My recommendation would be to buy additional LR warranty with the truck. That way, you won't need to concern yourself with it.

thanks for your posts, I agree I should get extended warranty (although that adds another K or 2 to the cost of the system...) Thanks again, Bryan
