Ok, may sound like a dumb question, but I dont have a manual. The pic on the dash looks like its saying put into neutral, dont go over 5mph and shift the L-H lever into N then L. I cant get the lever to budge out of H. So now I am thinking somethings wrong with the transfer case. Please tell me I am doing something wrong. |

Should be easy if you're rolling forward, transmission in neutral, push firmly on the H-L shifter - sometimes really firmly. If you're not moving, it's very tough. |

I have the same problem on my 88RRC. Also trying to lock in the transfer case, it feels like something is binding. |

steve's advice is correct, slowly rolling with the main transmission shifter in "N" take the little knob and push it into low range. the difflock binding david is talking about is a seperate issue. davisd you will need to lubricate all the linkage to get your difflock lever to work. this might mean just a shot of PB blaster or you might have to take the console off and get in ther with a knife and lube and scrape the thing clean. DONT force it. do a search for more advice rd |

Rob-A little lube goes a long way. That took care of the sticking. I also found a zip tie that was hanging in the area that might have had something to do with it. Trimmed it down and got it out of the way. Thanks. |
