I have a 98 LSE, that is green, the only problem is I call to get a bottle of touch up paint and they ask me what "color green." So I ask them if they can tell be the VIN # and they say no. I looked under the hood and didn't see a color code. What should I do now??

Call Rovers North. They can tell you what color it is by the year and general color "green". For example my D1 is black, called RN, gave them the year and color and walla - "Beluga Black". Where do they get these names anyway?

RN - 1-800-403-7591

The Color Code and color should be in the engine bay.

what does the green look like? If its grayish/brownish green, its Willow. If its green with a hint of gold, its Woodcote. If its neither of those its BRG. Whats the vin#? i can find out with that.

Does anyone know how common woodcote green is? I have a 99 in this color and I have only seen one other from Texas to Georgia, and Atlanta is crawling with Disco's.--Matt

What did they call my 95 'gold'?! I too have looked in the engine bay and don't see anything.

And Gil, how rare are the Charleston Green ones? I want one!

Woodcote is more common in the northeast. A good percentage of 99 DIs I see are woodcote.

It is quite rare in range rovers and DIIs.

Ron

PS charleston is rare for good reason

I can tell you the color by the last 8 of the VIN. However, if it is a 1998 LSE, it is most likely British Racing Green or Willow Green. Those were the only two greens offered as an LSE (but being Land Rover, it really could be any color....) Woodcote Green, Charleston Green, and Epsom Green were all offered in 1998 as well, but not as an LSE.

alyssa..
dont forget about that 50th anniversary 98 LSE that ONLY came in woodcote. It had the piping, the TWR wheels and some other stuff.

Hmmm. Gil, I thought it was willow, not woodcote. The 50th anniversary editions I've seen are willow. They've got that funky lightstone piping on the bahama seats.

I think Ron likes Charleston Green the way I do; we both see it as a perfectly good opportunity to paint a Disco in Sandglow.....

:-)

Alyssa.. I could have sworn there was a woodcote LSE that came out at the same time as the woodcote 4.0 SE with the funky piping. maybe im nuts, ill try to find a picture.

I do have a monte carlo Disco at our store. I think it actualy looks better on the disco than on the freelander.

speaking of colors.. maybe Ron or Alyssa might know what the hell color this is, as ive never seen it before.
blue

heres the link:

DAH! Gil gets into work before I do! I stand corrected, Gil. Ron tells me that the 50th anniv's WERE woodcote. Please accept my apologies. As for that Disco, on my screen it looks like Monte Carlo Blue, but I know that isn't so. DCS reads C. Blue, so you very well may be correct as to Caledonian Blue. Since it's from Canada, I bet that's the case. You know, what's interesting is that they say that the vehicle has ACE, which it doesn't, and they don't even mention that it's a Canadian car. I also like the bit about the success of the Navigator and the Lexus making us bring out the DII. All of this, and it's from my home town!!!!!

sorry alyssa. I dont know why I get here so damn early. It must be the love of the Rover. Tell Ron thanks for the verification. I also found that bit about the Navigator and Lexus pretty amusing. If you all down there in PA need a monte Disco OR an Icelandic Disco or an Orange 01 Disco.. im your man. Please take them!! someone!!
