I ask because I'm going out this weekend on the trail and am thinking of putting Futura Enforcers on beforehand (replacing Pmetric Bridgestone Dueler ATs )... If I went with the RTs, I'd be waiting until next week for the tire.

We've had a lot or rain (by Arizona standards) and I think the trail could be sloppy so I'm thinking more aggressive would be good, but I'm also trying to balance my short term needs with the long term good for my truck and wallet.

Most of my driving is on the road, but noise and ride aren't terribly important (my first 4wd was a Samurai). I've read numerous threads in the archives and I think either of these tires would work (as well as several other possibilities).

I've had Futura M/T's before on my Toy 4X4 and it performed well on and off-road. Once you get used to the noise you'll be fine. It is reasonably priced and perform just as well if not better than pricier M/T's. I also had Goodrich M/T's and A/T's but I did not like the A/T.
Haven't tried the Rover R/T's and actually debating between that, the Bridgestone Duler M/T and the cheap Futura's for my DII. Good luck in your choice and either one should be fine IMO.

Jeffrey, I've got the Futuras and most of my driving is done on the road as well. I've put right around 27k on the Futuras and they still have tread left, not alot, but it's there. I didn't notice them being overly noisy at the beginning, but after about half the tread was gone, it started getting louder. I just ordered myself some Interco trxus M/T's for $109 and free shipping from 4wheelparts.com Good luck to ya.. Rob

Ive had them on my Disco 2 for about a year and all i can tell u is they SUCK.
They SUCK in snow, mud, and ice. For snow mud and ice i would get the MTR's.
Save your money and get better tires.
cheers

I have been running the Kumho Venture M/T for a month or so. Their not too noisy, have done pretty well in the rain and work well on the trail. $97 each incl mount/balance.

alen-you think the futuras suck..? i think they rock! i have used them on all of my baja and central america trips, plus all of the wheeling i do in california. They perform well in mud, tough tires that dont get slashed or poped really easily when running trails that are littered with sharp rocks. For the price i have been very pleased. by the way alen those tires are not designed for snow. although they do have the holes in them for snow studs.

anyway you can not go wrong with these tires. lots of people on this site run them and love thme. cheers

I ran mine in the snow and thought that they did just fine, especially for a M/T. They have done excellent in the mud as well. Just put them in some mud earlier and as worn as they are I made it through just fine. You can't expect these tires to be MT/Rs, they cost 95 bucks, not 165 bucks each.

I use the futura. I like them just fine and I do lots of rock stuff. In the snow they scare me to death though. I didn't notice any noise issues, but then again my doors don't seal to well anymore anyway.

I've just put about 1,000 miles on a new set of Dunlop Rover Radial RTs and have to say that I don't hear any additional road noise over the stock Michelins. I've also been able to play with them just a little in both the mud and snow and have been real happy so far.

I liked the R/Ts.... Better off-road than ATs, and wear well for highway use. MTs would be better in mud, but won't have the lifespan; and, R/Ts are less than BFG-MT(km)s or GY-MTRs....

Only reason I went with BFG Commercials instead this last time was that the wife is on tarmac a lot more even, and money was a crunch (the Commercials were less than the R/Ts even)...

I've had the R/T's for a year and love them. On the road there's as good as stock. Off road they are a great improvement. I would hate driving to work everyday with a m/t tire. FWIW

I have Radial Rover RTs and they're quite nice. Quiet on the road and great off-road. I've put about 9000 miles on them so far and I've lost < 1mm of the tread so it seems like I'll get a lot of use out of them.

They're a little flexy around corners on the road but they're also a lot larger at 238-85 than my stock tires were.

If I were you, I wouldn't sacrifice the next 50,000 miles of my truck's performance for 1 weekend. Do what you're going to be happy with over the long haul even if it means not having the perfect tires for this weekend's trip. In my opinion.
