I have a 1999 Disco II SE7 with ACE. Whenever I accelerate I here and feel a clunk about every 5 MPH coming from the front passenger side. It stops around 50 MPH. It sounds like it could be the passenger side front caliper hanging up or something to due with the ACE. The local Landrover Dealer was clueless. It is not the transfer case noise that you sometimes here when accelerating and then letting off the gas. Any ideas? |

I am no expert, but it could be U joints. I have had u joints go out on other vehicles and the symptoms were a clunking sound whenever load (gas pedel) as applied or released. FWIW, I would take the vehicle by a shop that specializes in CV joints, driveshafts ect. and hear what they have to say. Also, see my question on new front end noise. Hope this helps. David |

How long have you owned the truck? It sounds like the ACE recycling itself which it does very frequently if it is not engauging, like if you are onn a flat freeway. |
