Got some fittings made for a hydraulic winch, and I need to braze the steel fittings onto a steel pipe. The guy in the hydraulics shop said I need to use brass-rod to do this. Anyone got any tips here before I start? I have an oxy-propane torch.

TIA

Yeah actually, I find that it is easier for me at least, to hole the rod along where I am going to be brazing it and move the torch itself. Some people like to move the rod but I find when I go that my hand shakes a little and it just doesn't come out as good.
