Does the remote need a new battery? If you use the key, does it power lock? If you push down the driver's door lock button, does it lock all four? |

Gary: The locking mechanism on the Discos is fairly complex and a combination of mechanical-over-electric. First, check the fuses, next check to make sure that there is power to the actuator, finally, check the mechanicals behind the lock cylinder. Once you open the door panel and look around in there, you'll know what I mean about the unnecessary complexity. Be glad you haven't had the failures I've had where I couldn't lock the drivers door! |

new batteries in remote, and doesnt work if you push the drivers lock down. all have to be locked manually and individually. sucks. what do i need to look at?

Fuses F1, F2, F4, F5, F6 power the alarm and locks per the electrical manual. Try replacing or at least checking them with an ohmmeter, in case they look good but aren't. Beyond that, there are a number of voltage checks in the electrical manual to troubleshoot both the alarm operation and the lock actuation. That would be the next thing I'd start doing. Maybe Paul can tell you what pin on the actuator connector to check for voltage on - I couldn't find an easy answer looking at the schematic. |
