I have never used ebay either to sell or buy anything. I am desperately trying to sell my 1967 Series IIA and my 1943 MB Willys ( I am moving and have a new baby!). I was thinking about ebay but I'm apprehensive. 1. Is it secure? I hate giving up my CC# or bank account info. 2. I asume the "reserve" is the bottom line price? Any tips or advise would be great |

I've bought and sold quite a few things on eBay in the past and never really had any "unexpected" problems. Just like any other mostly anonymous transaction (no jokes here please) you have to make sure you're covered. The reserve means that is the price at which you are obligated to sell the item. So if you set your reserve at $1000 and bidding only reaches $999, you don't have to sell. If it reaches $1000, you do. |

Matt, I've been an eBAY seller for years now, since '98 I think. You will have to give up cc info to list an item, but I've never had an issue and would feel safe in telling you that you should not encounter any problems. I actually sold my old VW Thing on there a couple of years ago, and bought my Disco on there a year and a half ago. Andrew hit the nail on the head with his info.. Just do it. |

Matt-I have completed about 70 transactions on Ebay with no problems. 2 Rovers, one bought and one sold. Concerning your CC, I use a specific CC for online transactions only and have had no problems. Be extremely up front with absolutely everything concerning your trucks and I believe you will enjoy the exposure Ebay offers. Late in an auction I use the phone to talk to the buyers I feel are real serious and not just tire kickers. As you know there are many LR sites to advertise free on the web. I would try these also. Congrats on the new arrival and good luck! S- |
