To any of you with the QT front diff guard...how big is the slot for the tie rod to fit through on the pinion slider part of the guard? I am worried that my RTE tie rod wont fit (it is 1 1/4" diameter) Also, do you have to remove a ball joint to slide the tie rod through, or can you fit the tie rod end through? |

Will, I've had RTE tie rods and QT diff guards for around a year now and they are compatable, barely. Took my QT off to clean out the area and I can see that there has been contact at some point between the two but under what conditions I don't know. Doesn't seem to be a regular issue. Hope you are going to Coal Creek in a couple of weeks. You can see my new toy. Scott MacGregor |

Hey Scott, Im planning on going to Coal Creek. Whats the new toy? Did you have to remove a ball joint from the tie rod to install the QT diff guard? |

You should be able to leave the tie rod intact and work around it. Mine where a bitch to fit, front and rear, but I got them on. I'll be splitting time now between the truck and my new motorcycle. BMW F650 Dakar. It is something that can bring the fun back to the local trails. Now I don't have to drive 4 hours to have a good time off road. Coal Creek has a lot of runs that will be good for the bike. |
