I am working on installing an ARB on my '01 Series 2.
1. What are the two tubes going to each fog light and where do they go?
2. Can the headlight washing system be removed from the existing bumper without cutting the hoses?
3. ARB gives you 7/16 dia. bolts for the crush cans but wouldn't make more sense to use 1/2 dia. since the holes are 1/2 or do you need that play for adjustment?

I searched but could not come up with any answers. Thanks for any help!!

1. These are vent tubes and they are just open to air.
2. Yes.
3. You will need the play for adjustment.
Hope this helps.

Brad,

Consider welding a bead where the bumper and frame "marry up". After running my bumper on washboards for a month, the bumper became a little loose. If you don't catch it soon enough, you could stretch the steel in the bumper.

Thnaks for the info guys. I was in the middle of doing the install when I posted these questions and had to press on before anyone posted back. I found out on my truck the 1/2" diameter bolts worked fine where the crush can mounts to the frame. I think this is better if it works on your vehicle, mine lined up fine using the slop in the bolt holes on the bumper. If you do this the factory tow hook must be drilled to 1/2" or left off. I still drilled the "pin" bolt holes up through the frame but used Gr.8 3/8" dia. bolts instead of the M10 supplied by ARB. I found out after getting everthing lined up, tight and using the extra hole in the bumper as a guide you must drill a 10mm hole and secure it with a bolt. If you don't do this the bumper will move on impact.
I tested it this weekend with absolutly no problems. I know its not the favorite bumper out there but for my needs and less than 1/3 the cost of a S$ its fine.

Brad,

How long did it take to change bumpers? Did the ARB match up well?

Jim,
I did it mostly by myself in several evenings after work. Maybe 6hrs total time. One evening I removed everything. The next night I installed the new bumper and the following morning installed the pin bolts, turn signals, and headlight washers. I did have help lifting off the old bumper and putting the first few bolts in the new one. I also decided to leave off the factory tow hook and tubular cross bar. There is always a learning curve with a job like this and I could do it again in 3 hours start to finish. If anyone is getting ready to do this job and needs more info email me.
