The last 2 mornings that I have started my 94 I have had problems. When I first insert the key and turn it over the engine does nothing, however the heater and radio turn on. After turning the key on and off two or three times it starts as normal? This has only happened in the mornings also. What should I check? Thanks for the help. | ||

Explain further. Does the starter engage and turn the engine over, but the engine does not start? Or does the solenoid engage (you hear a loud click) and the starter does not turn the engine over? Or does the starter/solenoid do nothing? If the last one describes what you experience, the problem may lie either in the ignition switch or the starter relay. | ||

I hear nothing the first few times I turn the key. Then it starts as normal? | ||

starter solenoid, most likely. I am checking with a Bosch dealer to see if I can get one. Rover dealers or aftermarket do not sell them without having to buy a new or rebuild starter. If I found the correct one, I will post it. We need to add this to the Discoweb parts cross referience list. Disco94Jason |
