Hi, I want to put an extra cig lighter in the loadspace, mainly to power a fridge. I was going to extend the front socket, but....need it to be permanent live. any ideas lads. Russ |

Sould be two wires behind the passenger side rear lamps you can use. The should be near the trailer socket. The wires have little red caps on thay you'll need to take out. |

Check your wattage or amperage of the appliance your going to use. The wires for the lamps might not be enough. Those are most likely 18 or 20 guage wires which, given the length of the run, will only be good for up to 5 amps. Cig lighters should be wired to handle a 20 amp circuit which means you'll need 14 or 16 guage wire again, given the length of the run, I would suggest 14 guage and a direct run from the battery with a fuse or a auto circuit breaker near the battery (within 12 inches), run it under the vehicle and pop it up into the cargo area and hook up the aux cig lighter. |
