I know there are a few people who wanted to know more info on the Flowmaster in a Disco.
First off, the Part Number for the Flowmaster I used was #942442. Basically, you need a muffler with a 2.25" Center Inlet and 2.25" Offset outlet.(That is if you want to reuse your stock pipes, which i did for now)

I got the 40 Series DeltaFlow, and I love it. It is definitely louder inside the cab, but the resonance is not near as bad as an original Flowmaster. Outside, the truck sounds awesome. It is considerablly louder, but it has a very powerful, throaty sound to it.

As for performance, there was a small but noticable increase in acceleration off the line, and a very noticeable increase in power when going up hills. On trouble that my truck used to slow down on/struggle on, it now cruises up much more easily once it downshifts. Also, i had about a 1mpg increase in fuel consumption.
Overall, I am very happy with it!

Let me know if any of you have any questions...

Will,

Thanks for the info. I saw a D-90 with the Delta series muffler and it too sounded very nice. My biggest concern has always been the interior resonance but it sounds like the Delta series took care of that. I'd love it if someone could post some numbers (before and after) using a DB meter. My 5.0 used to drive me batty arund 2100 rpm on the hwy!

Yep, made the call today to make sure they have the right one. My friend says that it should be around $80 intalled, which sounded cheap as hell to me. Also getting the exhaust manifolds replaced.. woo-hoo!! Can't wait. Looks like I'm going to go up to Windrock Saturday so maybe the next weekend I'll get the exhaust work done.. Later.. Rob

I've had a flowmaster on my truck for about a year and a half. I love it. I can't understand why more people don't do this simple and inexpensive mod. It's one of the biggest "bang for the buck" mod out there.

you used a 2.25"? i use the 2.5" and it fit fine with the stock pipe. originally had the 50 series (3-chamber) on my disco the 1st time around, then the 40 Series (2 chamber) Delta flow the second time around. the delta flow resonance is alot less than the 50 series that i had. i think that the 50 series Delta may be alot quieter, for those not looking for the over-powering sound.
