Hi guys, I am in the process of installing a pump and the return and feed lines. I thought I would be done in couple of hours. But I was at the dealer getting the lines, and the guy said the clamp needs a special tool to clamp (crimp) it down. I thought we could put the regular screw down clamp from the local auto shop. Now I am not a Hydraulic or fluid engineer, and I do not know if regular clamps would hold down 1100psi of pressure. My question obviously is What clamps to use, and what tool do I need for the dealers clamp. |

The return lines use just standard worm gear clamps - get the wide version though - not the narrow little bastards. The pressure lines will be hydarulic hoses with crimped on fittings - you do no coupling of those assemblies yourself. The dealer is referring to the "Oetiker" style clamps they use at the factory - ignore those and just use worm gear clamps - preferabbly all stainless, wide style. Again - this is on return lines only (low pressure) Bill |

forget the dealer they are wrong. the suction line is a low pressure line that runs from the bottom of the resevoir to the pump, a good quality stainless screw clamp is all is needed. all the high pressure lines have threaded ends. you can have much better then stock lines built at any hydraulic supply store. and they will cost much less then the dealer. if you allready bought them from the dealer take them back!...the stock shit is just shit. good luck thom |
