Hey Guys, Anyone know what the Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating (GCVWR) of a 1996 5-Speed Discovery? The manual lists a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 6018 lbs, and a max tow load of 5,500 lbs (high range), but no listing of a gross combined. I highly doubt it is the combination of GVWR and max trailer weight, but I am curious what it is rated for. Neither the vehicle owners manual, nor the vehicle placard on the door frame list the GCVWR. Thanx

the only thing you need to calculate/find out if you tow is tongue load on the hitch for good towing this should not exeed 160lb. (own exp.)and off course you substract this from the usable payload in the truck GVWR (incl tongue load)+ 5500lb is your GCVWR. Land Rover states(in the EU) that all there trucks can tow 7000lb.wich should raise your GCVWR with 1500lb. |
