i am looking at possibly getting a 93 lwb, but i was told it has some minor problems. havent looked at it yet, but the porblems are as follows
1. it runs roughevery for a few minutes every few hundred miles...what could this be?
2. electric door locks stick sometimes when opening..is this like the discos problems? i have experienced those myself and have fixed them...

thanks for all the input ahead of time. i will check out the truck tomorrow..

vehicle speed sensor or maybe just a tune up. you'd have to experience the rough running and describe the symptoms.

Rob, would a 90 classic have a VSS also? I have what feels like a bad VSS, cutting out for 2 seconds and then coming back. But, I was told a 1990 doesnt have a VSS. You seem to know more about old rangies than the techs I have here.

hey hEY HEY now! a 1993 RR LWB isn't old - just experienced. probably like most of the owners.

this will be of little specific help, yet, there could be a multiple of items big and small that could cause an engine to perform as you described.

anything can be fixed. Rob has a good suggestion - perform a basic tune-up including the distributor cap, etc. and go from there.

It bolts to the trans bracket on the "old" 93 hunters. just follow the cable from the back of the t-case

well i got a chance to take the truck over night. the owner is a pretty cool guy from england. anyway he let us take the truck and we have been driving it for a while. runs solid, but has a sound that sounds like the air is on, but its not. almost like a low "airy" sound.. it has power, took it in the mud on a hill climb. it did fine. everything works. all new hoses. needs a new exhaust system. the low air like sound scares me a bit though.
it has some small leaks, but nothing that drenches the engine. looks like all the hoses are pretty new. thanks to the responses.
