It's worth renting this movie right about now, especially if one doubts Mr. Bush's decisions. This is the story of the uphill battle Winston Churchill faced in convincing the English House of the danger of the Nazi war build-up in the late 1930's. I found the parallels to our situation with Iraq to be compelling. |

Never seen it. Sounds interesting. I just hope it is over soon with as few casualties as possible on both sides. BTW...I'm changing my name from Greg French to Greg Freedom! |

The movie "Catch 22", although a bit odd, has some interesting diagloge that is very relevant to todays current events. The best part of course, is when the guy on the raft gets cut in half by the airplane. BW |

Hey Rans, saw that when HBO first previewed it. It is very good and applicable to today. Funny how history has a habit of repeating itself!! Mike |

I think this fits what Mr. Churchill was getting at. First they came for the Communists, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didnt speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me. Rev. Martin Niemoller, 1945

Somewhat related, I just started "The Hunt for Bin Laden". For a civilian like me, a real eye-opener. I can't put the thing down. I can't put into words my respect for US special forces. |

"I just hope it is over soon with as few casualties as possible on both sides." That is something I think we can all agree on, regardless of where one stands politically. - Axel

rosevelt wanted to take care of hitler early on and was almost impeached for it! he realized at the point he would have to build support over a period of time. It wasn't of course until Pearl harbor that America was willing to get involved. He had the right idea. Just think of how many lives would have been saved. |
