99 Disco II, 47K...Should I buy?

Author Message   katie jackson (Disco_99) New Member Username: Disco_99 Post Number: 1 Registered: 03-2003 Posted on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 - 09:19 am:    I am (thinking of) trading in my Audi A4 for a 1999 Land Rover Disc II (leather, 2 roofs, etc) great condition...dealer and I negotiated $18.5K I am hoping to drive this one to the ground (i.e., keep for a long time)...please provide your feedback on this decision! too many miles for the price? any major technical issues I should be aware of? See if you can work in an extended warranty. Another 3 years, 100K miles. That would be worth around $2500. It will be well worth negotiating for it. Trading as you might know is not always the best. You could most likely sell the A4 for more money on the open market if you can juggle the two transactions. The price sounds good from a dealer. 47k miles is not bad at all. What are they giving you for the A4 and what year is it, details? Mine is not a daily driver as it has extensive modifications but my wife was out of town this week so I got to drive hers instead of the disco and I love it. I will probably pull mine out of storage as the weather in Ohio looks like it may stay nice. I can't say enough good things about the a4's
