Hey guys does anyone happen to have a picture or any diagram w/ the throttle body & the sensors mapped out?? I am trying to narrow down a problem & cross-match part numbers. Thanks for any help in advance. I am proud to say that I have been sucessfull pulling out various vehicles in our Denver storm. Where I'm at we are looking at almost 4 feet of new snow. The new detroit locker rules. Joe B |

Joe: What year of Disco are you looking for info on? Also, which particular "Sensor" are you curious about? Paul |

The throttle position sensor is located on the actual intake plenum, adjacent to where the convoluted tube from the MAF enters the plenum. It faces directly forward, opposite the throttle butterfly. The MAF is the device between the air box and the plenum with wires coming from it. The intake air temperature sensor (I'm not up on my GEMS engines, but I believe the following is true) is in the air box, or on the bottom of the hose leading to the plenum. I don't have a '96 handy, otherwise I'd snap a pic. If you need pics of a '93 Rangie, there's one in the shop right now! Yeah, I know, no help. Why are you replacing the MAF? I have on several occasions had the OBD tell me I had a bad MAF, yet on no occasion has this been the case. Is your check engine light on? Have you read the codes? Advance Auto Parts will read the codes for free. The diagnostic connector is behind the bolster, adjacent to the accelerator. At least in that general area. Peace, Paul |
