Gents,

I have a very strange occurrence on the nearside rear panel & quarter panel.

Where the roof joins the side panels, just below the guttering, the sealant/filler has failed and fallen away, leaving a hole running from around the centre of the rear side window almost all the way around to the tailgate.

Anyone had/seen this before on any Disco ?

Cheers -

Never heard of that one before. Sorry that you're the first.

Has the vehicle been involved in a wreck before?

Hi Oliver,

Well, I bought the truck used, so I can't be on hundred percent sure.

I did do some checks and it came up clean, so no insurers have been notified.

I have mounted two rear worklamps on the rear section of the gutter, on side is fine the other sealer has failed.

So, whilst I don't see that the mod has caused the problem no doubt LR will.

It does look like a panel/roof may have moved but no easy way of measuring it.

I am taking to a main dealer tomorrow, just to see what they say.

Worst case, I shall have to re-seal it myself and keep an eye on it - if I am not happy I shall sell it.

The dealer may notice other indicators that it has been in a wreck also. I have seen some shitty body work done before by people buying these vehicles at salavage sales and repairing (i use the term lightly) them. They do it at the absolute lowest cost and sell them as cherry. We have seen a couple trucks with the frames twisted, brakes lines twisted up/crimped, driveline parts that contact other parts of the vehicle, ect. In your case with the search i don't think this is what happened but can't rule it out yet.
