All right, I know the general question of, "What do I do when my check engine light comes on?" has been gone over a hundred times, but this time there may be a twist.

First the light went on about 6 months ago for no apparent reason. So I reset the system and watched to make sure it wasn't tripped again, figuring that if it did, then maybe there really was something wrong.

2 months ago or so, I put Magnecor wires in and used the Platinum plugs. I could tell the difference in the HP, (from the better wires) but in general, the truck was just not running like it should after that change out. The RPMs bounce around in idle, and it just didn't feel the same. I figured it was the plugs. Well, the same goes for today and this past week - the truck just didn't feel right, not that I could put my finger on anything wrong, just that it wasn't quite right. Then, while driving under completely normal conditions, the light came on... I know it probably needs a professional tune-up. So maybe this is just my excuse for finally getting it done. Or maybe not. thoughts?
