Rock crawling with stock gears???

But even with the stock tires the 1st gear low range is alittle to fast! how much worse will it get with the bigger tires? And how will it do uphills on the freeway on cruise? And how bad should I expect the gas milage to get. Thanks ! Yo'll find the disco a little slower off the mark, but nothing to moan about, and in fact I like the reduced engine speed on highway. You should base your decision only on the crawling aspect. They are not so different from what you have now, maybe 10%, but anything bigger and people start regearing. Went there all the time and my stock gears and 265/75 MT/R's did me fine. My D1 had 150,000+ miles at the time. The only time I really wish I had gears was on the highway when the wind was in my face. Better gearing helps but in my opinion, that is the last thing that I would change. James
