SD = Stripped Down

SD, SE, SE7, SD7. SD is the standard edition, more of the bare bones D1. It does not have the front fog lamps that break off-road and fill with water or the sunroofs that jam open or pop alot. I personally think the SD was the best D1 because it had less $$$ stuff to go wrong and still had most of the power comforts that would be optional on other vehicles.

I agree with Everything Leaks. I own a '96 D1 SD. It provides all the conveniences and maintains the rugged off-road appeal.
