hi all.. is this a major problem? it leaks slightly..nothing is drenched no drops on the ground..do i have to worry about this? or is it like my disco 1 which leaks oil, but drives great. also is this a coslty repair? thanks all cheers |

Most eventually leak from wear and/or loose main bearings. Doesn't cause any problems usually except of course the dirty driveway. It can leak from the main seal, the sides of the main cap, or the top of the main cap. To repair the main seal itself, you have to pull the engine (or at least move it forward a couple inches), drop the pan, and remove the rear main cap. The 2/3 fix is the resealing the main cap. The main cap can be removed without pulling the engine, and a lot of times that will fix the leak. I did this on my engine and just now get a drop or two emerging after 2K miles. Call a dealer or to get a price on fixing. |

great. its just like on my disco. just wanted to make sure. its just starting so i wasnt alarmed. good to know its just the usual thing. |
