Has anyone attempted to install the roof rail extensions on DII? If so, what difficulty is involved? Thanks in advance! SM |

Look in the tech section at Disco2.com. There's a great write-up there on installing them. |

I saw that write up, but I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience installing them. Thanks for the response. SM |

Hi has anybody tried fitting these to a D1? There is a length issue and the front bit will need some holes drilling, but is this viable? And before everyone gets excited about chunky roof racks, the reason for this is it would allow me to still fit in the garage. Pete S. |

Peter, the DII has internal braces that the rear rails attach to. I'm not sure the DI has these. |

Just go get some Thulies. Cheaper and much easier... Many more cool attachments too. |

Spencer, I've installed the extensions on my DSII, and I'm really happy with 'em. The most difficult part is removing the interior panels, but that part is really only 5-10 minutes. One tip I'd offer is to first remove the interior the trim piece above the rear door. It just pulls off toward the front of the car. Getting it out of the way allows the window trim pieces to come out a lot easier with less twisting and flexing. The writeup on disco2.com leads you in the right direction, but has some bits that weren't correct (such as having the wrong LR part # and the number and location of the trim clips). I should send in corrections one of these days... If you do it, the scariest bit is drilling the two holes in the roof. If you measure twice and cut once, no problem. Go for it. Jim |
