69,000 miles origional rotors with new raybestos metallic pads. I can't get this thing close to locking up brakes,no matter what speed wet or dry I stand on the brake pedal(literaly off the seat)and it eventually stops not even setting off the ABS,which is working tried it on loose gravel. What is it,pads, rotors, master cylinder, brake lines please help this is dangerous especialy in an emergency situation.

Nick,

- toss the metallic pads, and get a set of genuine LR organic pads (that is not likely to fix the problem, but may save you the rotors down the road)
- i heard of the ABS valves not closing completely and bleeding the brake fluid pressure.

is the pedal hard, spongy, pulsating, etc.?

Pedal is a bit spongy, first stop of the day it goes down a bit more than usual maybe I will try organics and a brake bleed, come to think of it ,used to have organics and it stopped better,I think they where Beck Arnley are they any good?

Mabey you have a vacuum leak somewhere, go sit in the truck when not running and pump the brake pedal, hold down hard, now start her up, did the pedal go donw a bit? if not, your booster may be going bad, or a vacuum leak somewhere,
just my 2 cents,
Peter

Beck Arnley is the house brand for Napa and other fine auto parts stores. If you want to go that route check out carparts.com... they carry all the same stuff for usually less, even after shipping. I just went to their site but they seem to be down at this time. Definitely try to find a ceramic/organic pad though.
