I ran 245/75/16 on my stock 92 rrc without any problems, no rubbing, but you might have some under full axle articulation, you also might have to adjust the steering stops out if your tires rub on the radius arms under full wheel lock. Check out rangerovers.net:

I PUT 235/85/16 TIRES ON MY HUNTER WHICH DID NOT SEEM TO RUB IN THE SHOP, BUT IT LOOKED SO GOOFY BECAUSE THE TIRES TOOK UP THE ENTIRE WHEEL WELL.SO I LIFTED IT 3.5 INCHES. CHECK OUT PIC IN MY PROFILE

Eddie, with EAS I wouldn't go larger than 245/75-16. You have to be aware that truck lowers itself above 55(?)mph, and that's not a good speed to touch the tires :-)

I think 235/85-16 looks perfect on a lifted RRC like Leons, or Jasons:

Ditch the EAS before it leaves you stranded miles from home riding on the bump stops, and get an OME lift - your tire options are greatly enhanced.

No you're right, those new rims are pretty nice looking. There's no way i'd take them off roading though. (19'' damn!)

It's tough to remove something when it works perfectly. I waited until I had a leaky air bag. Keep in mind, if your alternator goes bad on the trail, even if your battery's good, you're still driving home on the bumpstops.

235/85-16 will fit fine with an OME 3" lift like Jason's above.

Heya,

Those are 16 inch stockers on the 95 LWB. Not very ghetto :-P

Eddie -- Funny, just before I did my conversion, my EAS was working perfectly, until I jacked the truck up from the frame on the right rear. I heard the right rear bag blow out, and then the computer freaked out and wouldn't put any air into the rear end. From what I understand, only a trip to the dealer can fix that. I was glad I never got a wheel in the air out in the trails and had it blow due to articulation. So, I wouldn't just wait for it to go -- bump it up on your priority list! :-)

Ciao ~ Jason

second that 235/85-16 fit nicely on a RR with a 3" lift. although my set of Trxus MTs not the greatest build quality, they fit well without any rubbing at full articulation.

Hi,

Just wondering...I just recently purchased a 95 RRC (LWB) with stock tires & rims. About 2 months before purchase, the original owner got rid of the EAS and installed the standard British Atlantic Conversion kit with Bilsteins and I believe whatever standard coils that come in their (BA) kit (no lift). Since it will be a while before I'm able to change these out either the standard Bilsteins and spirngs that came in this BA kit, two questions I have are:

1. With the set up described above and my stock rims, what larger tires would I be able to run without any other mods or rub?

2. If I wanted a 2 inches lift or so, could I do so with the Bilstein shocks from the standard BA conversion kit thats already been installed and just change out the springs? If so, what springs would you recommend (for 2" lift)?

Thanks!

Dave,
Yes that works fine. Thats exactly what I did the Bilsteins were the first thing I put on my truck and then about 6 months later I went with Rovertym 2" springs. Works fine but I did just get a set of Steve Coopers rear shock mounts to get some more articulation in the back. In fact I just received them today, I'll post in a couple of weeks with results on the shock mounts.

Hi Wes,

Thats great news (that I can still use my standard Bilsteins (that came with the British Atlantc conversion kit and just change out the springs (from that kit) to the 2" Rovertym springs. My other question is:

1. What is the largest tire I would be able to run without any mods or rub "before" using those 2" Rovertym springs? and.....

2. What is the largest time I could run without mods or rub "After" installing the Rovertym 2" springs?

Thanks for any info regarding these 2 questions.

Dave,
Before you lift 225/75 would be safe. I have
235/85's but I put those on after I lifted it. I only rub a little bit on the inner wheel well and only when it's stuffed pretty good.
Depending on how saggy your springs are you might be ok with that size on the road but I would certainly be careful going over any bumps.

Thanks Wes,

That info is really helpful! I might go with the 225/75 for the time being (untill I have a chance to change the springs) I'm planning to put on a full roof rack on the 95 RRC and when loaded down, I hope the 225/75 size will still have room to clear (no rub). Thanks again!
