My 3.9 takes 6.5 quarts not sure if the 4.2 is the same try 5 then check the dipstick .   Alan Bates (Alanb) Member Username: Alanb Post Number: 130 Registered: 07-2002 Posted on Saturday, March 22, 2003 - 05:11 pm:    Its a big ol wrench, 1-1/8", get one with a box end/open end at sears or anywhere, or you could use a socket if you have one that big. 7.1 quarts with filter.
