99 D1. The pulley tensioner on the serpentine belt is connected to an arm which is connected to the engine block. The arm has some movement: it pivots slightly on the bolt that attaches it to the block. Is this normal? Should it pivot slightly? | ||

Yes this is normal. The arm you are talking about is spring loaded. This is how it keeps your belt tight. |
