Just saw a spy shot of the new Series III Disco in a British car magazine. It looks very similar to the new Volvo XC 90. |

If anyone has any more information about this, please post it. I haven't been able to find anything else about this on a websearch other than the junk at http://www.disco2.com/news/disco3.phtml, and I'm very curious... |

Screw the 6. I bet the new 8 is sweet. Did they say they were testing an optional 400HP power plant? |

It doesn't matter what engine you put in it. Its still going to be unibody const. on an explorer platform. My DII will be the last Rover in my driveway |

Considering all of the masking, it is pretty hard to tell what it will really end up looking like. Looks like some stuff from the RR, mixed with standard SUV crap. No roof hump? It's not even a discovery anymore-- they should change the name. They really should bring the D90 back to the US, at least LR would still have a capable vehicle sold in the states. What a let down.

Brian - the next D90 to be brought to the states, if it ever sees production that is, will probably have IFS or possibly be fully independent, so that dream of a capable LR in the states to take up the slack for that piece of crap Ford is replacing the Disco with is just that, a dream. first Jeep, now ROver, i guess it was inevitable with all the trendy idiots diluting what these vehicles truly should be. |

Something about that skid plate up front tells me that it's got IFS - looks a lot like the Freelander there. However, if you look carefully between the roof rails, you'll see there's a step in the roof after all. |

Mantaray. Duh. I new that. If they would only bring it back now while it is still good. Or better yet what the heck were they thinking when they dropped in '98. Silly. Oh well, it really doesn't matter all that much to me since there is no new SUV in my future. |

Face it everything will be IFS soon, the masses never take these vehicles off-road, they just want the off-road look with the on-road handling, and LR is marketing to these people. I think the days of the solid axles in LR's will be ending soon, it will be a sad day when that happens. The LR will then be a true mall crawler/soccermom/explorer type vehicle, which what 90% of LR owners use their car for anyway. I will be looking to purchase a 2000 Range Rover to supplement my 92 RR next year and it will probably be my last for a long while. |

Brian - sorry, didn't know if you knew that or not. wasn't trying to sound condescending or anything, just wanted to relate facts. i wish they'd bring the current D90 back over as well, but it just isn't possible. it sucks that i'll probably never have a brand new vehicle unless it's a car. |

175 HP?! I didnt think they could make it any less powerful. You guys think your discos are slow now....just wait. Did I read that right? Or is that only the Diesel that is 175HP? Hopefully the 2 "jaguar v6s" more powerful. As far as the looks go...looks like one of those plasticy honda elements. Bleccch. |
