SUS-

ya, i drove by there yesterday and it looks like it's coming along. supposedly it should open this summer, although, they have been working on the foundation since last fall... a friend of mine knows the owner, i heard he owns a dealership in lynchburg. let me know if you want my buddy’s email to get more info...

Call Hammersley, I heard the owner holds the "rights" to a LR dealership (maybe other Ford Premier Divisions too - AM and Jaguar) in Roanoke. Warning, this is just a rumor I heard, and rumors circulate quickly in the Burg, esp. the old 03.

James...are you UVAGOLF?!

Thanks for the info Patrick...I'm excited! I was sort-of kidding about the job thing, although I think I would have a lot of fun doing that!! Most of my friends think I should be a car salesman!

I can't wait....too bad it's not in the burg...

Can you drive the test track in a personal vehicle?! I do think it would be fun to be a Rover sales GUIDE...those great khaki pants and safari outfits! Hahahaha! I could ditch the suits and heels!

Hopefully by the time they open, I'll be able to afford to have a tune up done there!

They should have put it in Lexington instead. Then I would go get a job there :-) Right where 81 and 64 meet. No money in the noke.

Good point Ron....I think Lynchburg could have been a good market...C'ville too. But I guess they are too close to Richmond.

Yeah, by the way, how does Alyssa like working for the dealership?!

There was supposed to be one here in the Tri-Cities, land here is owned by the same ones that own LR Knoxville. They opened LR Chattanooga first, and it had a bit of trouble getting on its feet, so they've backed off on the one here. I jokingly called it LR Blountville because Blountville is a really small town in the middle of the Tri-Cities, no one would ever really put one IN Blountville. (FWIW, Tri-Cities here is Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol, in NE Tenn).

If it ever opens, I'm gonna try to moonlight there for nights and weekends, lol.....

I'd have to second that! Just take a drive through some of the private school parking lots...

Hahah, I make it a point to park the G offroad every single day. Too much pavement everywhere :-P

The Roanoke LR dealership will also have Volvo, Jag and maybe one more marque on the same property. It is owned by the Hammersley group in Lynchburg.

I'm from "02" but am in the loop on this one from 2000 miles away!

I could go for a cheesey western and a bowl right about now, it's just a long damn drive:-)

Damn, I've lived in VA for over 10 years now, and I just discovered the cheesy western last year. Holy cow, how could something so bad be so good. Thanks for the reminder, we'll have one on you next time we pass through.

BTW, anyone know who will run the LR shop?

I know who the GM is gonna be.

-Nothing like a good bowl & cheezy from the TT before a round of drinks to celebrate officially getting into George Washington U & Georgetown. ~Now I just have to decide where to go...

Thanks man! I'm really excited--- I'm trying to go to DC this weekend or early next week to visit both campuses. It basically comes down to who gives the most scholarship money, b/c they're both like 45,$$$ a year once you add room & food. Another big problemo im gonna face is trying to find a parking space. There's no way I'd go up there & leave the G down here...

Are there any GT or GWU alums here?!

2 am? Why so early?...things don't get interesting at the TT until at least 3, or the cops show up, whichever comes first:-)

Camille, Congratulations! Both are excellent schools. My niece was accepted to both GT and GWU also. She chose GWU, double majored, studied one year at Oxford, interned on "the hill" and graduated with honors! She also had her car there, not sure where she kept it or how much it cost - I'm sure it's not cheap!

Ah, the T room. At 2 AM,I always go for the trifecta - Bowl all the way, cheesy all the way, hot dog all the way. And the taste stays with me for at least the next 24 hours.

Mike,
Do you ever go into C'ville for a Gus Burger at the White Spot? Similar, but not as tasty, IMHO.
