While switching to a new drive shaft into a 97 D1, i found that the centering pin for the rotoflex was seized, yes i know, they're all seized, so a couple taps of a small hammer, i realized i needed a puller/slap hammer, so i rooted about the piles of junk in the garage, and found a bolt that fit into the centering pin, an old rusty 3/8" drill bit extension, a 5lb weight and a pair of vice grips, a few short minutes later, i welded the bolt to the drill bit extension, slid on the weight, and clamped on the vice grips, about 8-10 slaps later, out came the pin! I know that this is a monkey way of doing things, but i just finished driving 180 mi. and didn't feel like going out, or like spending more money! i laughed, so, so should you!!! Peter |
