I keep getting the same two codes (it usually takes several days) p1187 Oxygen sensor heater circuit short upstream and p1193 oxygen sensor heater circuit open downstream. I know it has to do with the oxygen sensors but what??? |

I had the 1187 before and it turned out one of the O2 sensor got diconnected. How old are the sensors? If you got more than 80K miles, I would say new 02 sensors. It looks like your upstream (before the cat) and downstream (after the cat) are bad. |

Bill I got my code reader thru Advanced auto parts,It's an Actron mod cp9135 and cost $135.00 It plugs into a conector on the kick panel under the steering wheel.You use this one by plugging it in and turning the key to start but not starting the engine. It links up and reads the codes in english except manufacturers codes which are by number and can erase them based on what you do with the control buttons |
