The shocks were out on my 98 Disco so i changed to a Gabriel gas ryder. Next to go is the springs, they are squeking and gives me a rough horrible ride. I checked rovertym, NWP, and some other places for springs and saw the "2 inch springs are the same as the regular springs. My question is : Would it hurt my shocks or anything on my car to put the "2 inch springs on, or should i just replace the existing springs with the exact same size? Somebody who knows a lot about this please let me know. -Garrett |

nothing will hurt Gabriel Gas Ryders, Garrett. coil springs squeaking? you must have stumbled upon a major discovery in material science. |

I am not too proud to run the Gabriel Gas Ryders Peter. Going up an incline with a large dip, the front left shock came apart and hung itself on top of the bottom boot and was stuck there. It looked pretty cool from one angle like i had a few inches of lift, but green shit started oozing out of the sides on the way back to the house to fix it, the shock had been on there for less than a month. Do you know anyone who has put "2 inch springs on with regular shocks? -Garrett |

i have, on two rovers, with predictable results. the damping action is great, the wheel travel sucks. i've had a set of gabriel hi-jackers on a minivan. it was cool to pump them up and watch the rear end go up 2 inches - but as far as shocks go, they sucked. my rear passengers were nauseating. |

Just for interest here is the opinion on a KIWI !! I had Gabriel shocks in my recently purchased 97 Disco and they were the problem of the rough ride not the springs.I fitted Rancho shocks and 2" lift springs (Kiwi made naturally) and the result was a totally different ride now I can relax and enjoy my truck!! |
