In alot of cases, you get what you pay for, but see what others have to say.

That subject has tons in the archives. Do a search by clicking on the 'Search" link on the bottom of the screen and you will find the answer ten fold.

$600.00 sounds like alot, but compared to repairing your rockers or doors its cheap.

That's what about each of the conversations are about! Debate over why one's better than another!

Save yourself a lot of money, use duct-tape to hold popcicle sticks along the sills, then spray w/ black paint to finish it up....

Personally, I have the RoverTym units and have been completely pleased with them. I have the HD's with the side "nerf" bars. Some feel these add too much leverage to the slider, which can result in it tweaking the sill. I've never had this problem, but if it concerns you, just order the regular version without the side bars.

Highly reccommended.

Gee I thought that i saw this same thread in just the past 24-48 hours. The other thread discussed some of the main concerns like:

1- Material, likely the stronger the better
2- Mounting hardware, a) to the sills, b) sills and frame, c) frame and bump stops at sills.
3- Protection. a) Do they protect the body by sticking out a bit. b) the sills, c) both.
4- Finish, likely the stronger the better.

I really love the rockware sliders thus far. Positives are 1, 2c, 3a. Drawbacks are they could offer a bit more coverage to the sills and finish. They can be used to jack the vehicle if you need to and they are very, very tough.

Perhaps the determining factor to me was that Rockware is about 45 minutes from my home.

I made my own sliders. They have been tested off road on the rocks and have the gashes to prove it. I saw the post on here the other day about the nerf bar acting as a lever. Im not sure how the rovertym or other nerf bars are made, but mine stick out 1 1/2" from the slider, a total of 4" from the mounts on the sill. When I installed my rovertym body lift I used the sliders as a jacking point. Granted this is not the weight of the frame, axles, tires, etc... but the most outside part of the slider took the weight, and the slider did not budge. I dont know how thick other sliders are but mine are 3/16". They wrap all the way around the sill and are bolted with grade 8 bolts into the stock sill holes. I dont know what I would do with out the nerf bar because it tends to push me off the rocks and really helps me off-road. I guess what I am trying to say is that I don't buy the whole "lever" thing. If you are going to have sliders to use off-road you really do need the nerf bar. If your not going to "USE" your truck off-road dont waste your money in these things, go buy some bling bling wheels and rubber bands for tires.

I recently bought a pair at Expedition Exchange.Last Sat was on Golden Spike in Moab. Not only did they work perfectly but they more than paid for themselves. Not a scratch on the doorpanels nor any bent or damaged sills.I highly recommend yhem. All the Jeepers on the trail were very impressed with both the Rovers performance(as was I) and how well the sliders worked. In the words of one "beauty and utility in the same package"

Well D, I don't want to rain on your parade as I did with the Detroit Locker thing, but if you got the nerf football action attached to your sliders and your sliders haven't yet ruined your doors and wings, then you haven't been wheeling in all the rocks that you claim you have.
