Does anyone have any pros or cons in comparing the ARB to a TJM front bumper. Is their much of a differences in weight or strength or it a matter of style between the two?

Text description
I think it's all just a matter of taste. I personally like my TJM simply because not alot of people have them. ARBs seem to be everywhere.

We sell both, but I much prefer the TJM. I don't think there is that much to decide between them really. Both are non-airbag and similar in design and both accept the same planetary winches. The TJM has slightly better clearance and is slightly lighter in weight, but these are small differences. It basically comes down to which one looks nicer to you.

I like the looks of the TJM much more than the ARB, and the fact that the TJM will accept Hella 4k's is a huge tie-breaker in my mind. The ARB will accept only the IPF 900's and 800's. Also, if you're interested in the TJM RB8 Rear Bar, I think the TJM T15 Bull Bar is a nice match.

I dislike the location of the recovery points on the ARB. I have seen them hammered beyond recognition. In addition to this, I have seen the ARB bumers themselves get pretty hammered just using it to get the wheels up on a ledge. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but if they are both similarly built, i would not get either if you plan to use them for a long time. I also would not want lights within the bumper.

However...the rockware stuff takes licking and keeps on ticking. Used it many times and merely scratches. I am confident from what I have seen in person with the ARB bumpers that if I had one it would not have recovery points and be dented as well.

How about the recovery points on the TJM John? Can you attach D-Rings, and if so, where? I'm trying to make the same decision myself right now.

How big of a Warn winch can you fit in the TJM? Is it the XD9000 just like the ARB or can you go bigger?
Thanks,
Brad

The recovery points on the T15, at least for the D1, are almost identical to those found on the ARB. They are the eyelet type and protrude from the lower leading edge of the blade. There is one eyelet per frame horn, and each eyelet will accept the standard 3/4" bow shackle.

Frankly, I don't know how big of a winch the TJM will accept. All of the ones we've sold were either winchless or the owner fitted an XD9k.

Thanks for the info John. I'm leaning towards the TJM now. It appears the TJM angles up more as it goes out giving more clearance on the sides. Is that just perception?

That is correct, but the differences between the angles on the TJM and ARB are very slight.

Don't forget the T15 has slots for your hi-lift.

Thanks Greg. I think that fact alone may have just sold me on the TJM. Being in high school...we'll just have to see how long it takes to muster up the money.
