just recently picked up 93 lwb andf with it came a strange problem. the owner told me that it stalls every few hundred miles or so. he thought as well as his mechanic thought that it could be a loose wire on the o2 sensor. the o2 sensors are after market. not sure who makes them. anyway the truck drives great! symptoms: driving just fine at around 50 car starts to slow stutter. im not sure if i could have punched the gas to stop it. but like most weird electrical rover problems i just pulled over and turned off the car and re started. one thing when i pulled over and took my foot off the gas the car stalled completly. truck started and drove just fine the rest of the way home. when it was stuttering it seemed like a bunk o2 sensor..what does everybody think it could it be? 93lwb |

Eddie, a bad O2 sensor would cause poor mileage not stalling. Good luck |

i just got my new nrp exhaust put on..byt the way its great! anyway i was talking to my mechanic about it and we went over the symptoms i told him what i ruled out hoses, plenum chamber, plugs, wires, etc..anyway he said that it might be a few things, but to see if there was any excess pressure in the sytem which could be causing the problem. he advised just to drive home with the gas cap losely on so air pressure build up could escape. 300 miles later and nothing has happened. he also said that if this cured the problem that it would probably be the carbon filter. i will double check on this. so simple a fix. the truck runs killer! |
