Does anyone have any idea how much a replacement heat windshield for a D2 costs? I went out to the truck this morning and found a nice five inch crack that started at the top of the windshield. If you had it replaced, where did you have it done? Dealer?

Thanks,
Kyle

Mike,

Was that at an auto glass shop or the dealer?

It was a autoglass shop called Glass Pro at 863 Bryant St. 415-431-1212 I beleive they are a nationwide chain as they also have a store in LV, NV and I'm not sure where you live.

Just to keep things in perspective....

I had the windshield on my 2001 Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon replaced last year for the low bid of US$1100.

So, LRs are cheap to fix?

if you have a heated windshield you are looking at over $1500. that's painful.

RETAIL is $490 on the windscreen, the finisher is another $90 and normal install is $165-200

I got the quote from the dealer today. $1000 before insurance. I ended up going with 89Glass. They are a nationwide company with local auto glass shops. They'll come to your place of work and do the replacement which I thought was great. After paying my deductible, it will be $450 out of my pocket.

The problem is they are probably charging you like 2-3 labor hours for the setting time after they spent 15 minutes pulling the old one off and putting the new one in. Somehow it comes to like 3-4 hours of labor for a 15-30 minute job.
