If you're looking for Hylomar, Permatex makes it: http://www.permatex.com/auto/autouh.asp?automotive=yes&f_call=get_item&item_no=2 5249 $4 at Advance Auto. joe |

Thanks. Manuals recommend hylosil and hylomar and the local auto parts didn't know what I was asking for. |

The two things used are rightstuff (which I believe is Hysoil) and hylomar. Permetex makes both. Ron |

What job are you doing Azblake. I used Hylomar on the Tranfer case cover, it works great, but putting it on the cover bolts, it still ended up leaking through the bolt holes. |

I recently got a manual and started going after nuisance problems. I pulled the T-case interlock and it specified hylosil to reseal it. I ended up using blue RTV. I just wanted to do things right according to the manual. I'm also changing all the fluids and it suggests using hylomar on the t-case fill threads. I've used the Permatex version bedore for bolt on stuff with gaskets, not sure why I'd be using it there if it's the same. |
